1. AS A GIFT TOOL
Birthdays … holidays … special occasions – family and friends often want to give a gift to celebrate. With your child’s Let It Grow Gift Account, they now have a convenient and secure alternative to a traditional gift.
Example: Your newborn child’s first birthday is approaching. Use the invitations and materials you received when you opened a Let It Grow Gift Account, to suggest to family and friends that they give a savings gift.
2. AS A TEACHING TOOL
Your child’s first account isn’t just somewhere to “put money.” This is a great opportunity to teach them how having a bank account works and to give them a great start on saving.
Example:
Your 7-year-old really wants a new bike. This is a great chance to teach your child the value of saving. Help him or her to begin saving by consistently putting his or her money into a Let It Grow Gift Account. Be sure to show your child things like the statement that comes each month, and build the anticipation of the day when he or she will have saved enough money to buy that new bike.
